Pemerintah menampik anggapan yang menyebutkan pelemahan nilai tukar rupiah saat ini merupakan yang terparah di kawasan Asia. Rupiah dalam beberapa hari terakhir diketahui telah mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan.

"Tergantung melihatnya, karena rupee mengalami apresiasi dalam beberapa hari terakhir ini. Tapi rupiahnya juga mengalami peningkatan," ungkap Menteri Keuangan (Menkeu) Chatib Basri saat ditemui di kantornya, Jakarta, Selasa (17/9/2013).

Chatib mengimbau semua pihak untuk menghitung nilai tukar rupiah dari hari ke hari. Mengutip data dari Bloomberg, Menkeu mencatat rupiah hari ini menguat 198 poin ke level 11.182 per dolar AS atau menguat 1,77%.

Sementara di pasar NDF, rupiah tercatat pernah menyentuh Rp 11.928 per dolar AS. "Sempat Rp 11.900 per dolar AS pekan lalu," paparnya.

Seperti diketahui, laporan dari Nomura Holdings Inc menunjukan rekor neraca transaksi berjalan yang dialami Indonesia akan mendorong investor asing menarik dananya dan menekan rupiah. Mata uang Indonesia ini telah menjadi yang terburuk di Asia sejak Juni.

Dari tabel yang dibuat Bloomberg diketahui pergerakan nilai tukar rupiah dan rupee menunjukan pelemahan lebih parah dialami oleh mata uang Indonesia. Rupiah tecatat telah melemah 13,9% sejak awal Juni, lebih tinggi dari rupee yang hanya melemah 10%. Angka ini membuat rupiah menjadi mata uang dengan pelemahan terparah di Asia sepanjang periode tersebut. (Fik/Shd)
